135: Infinite Possibilities

Hello and welcome to The Hope Podcast. I’m Aneel Aranha. Today we are going to talk about how we should pause for a moment and realize that in there are infinite possibilities that await us!

How are you? Don't give me the standard answer. How are you, really? Chances are you're not so good. You feel you've blown all the opportunities that came your way. You think you're so old, you have run out of time. You feel you have gone so far off the track there is no getting back. Isn't that true?

Be still for a moment. And realize something: "In this moment, there is plenty of time. In this moment, you are precisely as you should be. In this moment, there is infinite possibility." Those aren't my words. American author and speaker Victoria Moran said them, and they are profound in their simplicity and truth. And if we have faith in an omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent God — that's all-knowing, all-powerful, and ever-present — the possibilities are endless.

It doesn't matter where we are now; it is precisely where God wants us to be. It doesn't matter what mistakes we made along the way; God permitted them to happen. It doesn't matter how old we are; God still has a plan for our lives.

Consider Moses as an ideal illustration of this. Born to a Hebrew slave woman, he nonetheless grew up as Prince of Egypt. Then some foolish mistakes (he murdered a man for one) saw him living in the wilderness for forty years. Moses must have reconciled himself to a lifetime of regret, forgetting that he was still in the hands of God. And then, in one moment, when God called him from a burning bush, everything changed for Moses.

"But," you say, "that was Moses. I am just poor, little me. God surely can't have any grand plans for me." Oh, he does. In fact, his plans are greater than you can imagine. If he called Moses to bring the Israelites to freedom, he wants you to bring the entire world to freedom. The only question is: do you want to be a world-changer, or are you satisfied being how you are?

In this moment, there is infinite possibility. Carpe diem! Seize the moment!

May the Spirit be with you.
